Dear friends,
Why do some people seem to have a “secret friendship” with God, while others struggle just to believe He is listening?
The Apostle Peter gives us an answer in 2 Peter 1. He describes a “Growth Ladder”—a sequence of virtues that moves us from a basic trust in God to a transformative love for God.
In my latest teaching, I explore the pathway to spiritual transformation from my sermon at Restoration Church, VA.
One key insight is the difference between “Compensatory Faith” (finding God in brokenness, like Hagar) and “Correspondence Faith” (finding God through secure family love, like Timothy). Regardless of how you started, the destination is the same: Intimacy.
But intimacy has a price. It requires the peeling back of layers. It requires the risk of obedience. As I shared in the message: “Obedience may strip you of comfort, but it clothes you with glory.”
If you are looking for a roadmap to deepen your interior life this week, I invite you to watch or listen to this message.
Keep flourishing,
Dr. Victor Counted
